Please join us for the October Women’s Business Network Luncheon on Thursday, October 17th at the Scera Theater (745 South State in Orem). This month’s meeting will feature a panel discussion on the importance of increasing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) capability in our community. Did you know that most of the job growth in Utah Valley is happening in these fields and that employers are finding it difficult to fill all of these high-paying jobs because there aren’t enough local, qualified candidates? A very prestigious panel including Provo Mayor John Curtis, Rick Nielsen (Nebo School District Superintendent), Dr. Cheryl Hanewicz (Associate Professor of Technology Management – UVU), Alisa Kirkham (Owner of Kirkham Motors and a mom), Dr. Jessica Egbert (AVP at Rocky Mountain University; Vice Chair of the UV Chamber Education Committee), and David Bateman (President and CEO of Property Solutions) will discuss how you can support STEM and its related jobs in our community as well as help the youth in our community prepare for jobs of the future.
