April 12th WBN Luncheon: “Real Women Run : Empowering Women in Political Participation”

The WBN is incredibly excited to announce April’s luncheon event: “Real Women Run” featuring a brilliant panel of Utah’s female political leaders including former Salt Lake City Mayor Deedee Corradini, Saratoga Springs Mayor Mia Love, Orem City Councilwoman Mary Street, and former Utah Legislator Lorie Fowlke. Read their full bios here.

Did you know?

  • Half of Utahns are women, yet not one holds a seat in congress or in a state-wide elected office.
  • Only seven states rank lower than Utah based on the proportion of female leaders in state legislature.
  • Utah women vote more than men, yet only 25 percent of current GOP delegates and only 45 percent of democratic delegates are women.
  • Statistics show women win elections a the same rate as men, but fewer women actually run.

Please join us Thursday, April 12th at Ruby River from 11:30am to 1:00pm. Register here before Monday, April 9th at noon.

Whether you’d like to find out how to participate in public life and leadership, work on campaigns, or simply learn more about our political system, this (non-partisan) event is one not to miss!
