WBN 2012 Scholarship Program

Women’s Business Network (WBN) is a division of the Utah Valley Chamber of Commerce designed to empower professional women by promoting business connections, encouraging diverse personal and professional networks, and providing development opportunities.

As part of our commitment to this mission, the WBN funds a Scholarship Program open to women currently enrolled in an undergraduate business degree program at a regionally accredited Utah County college or university. This year two $1,500 scholarships will be awarded. The recipients will be selected based upon their successful completion of the application package and their demonstration of professionalism, educational achievements, and career goals.

Scholarship Application Requirements

1. Applicants must be women who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate business degree program at a regionally accredited Utah County college or university.

2. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

3. Applicants must submit the completed scholarship application package which includes Application, essay, and an unofficial transcript no later than the application deadline.

Scholarship Program Requirements 

1. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in school throughout the academic year of the scholarship award. Scholarship recipients will be expected to meet monthly with the Scholarship Program Coordinator and will participate in monthly WBN luncheons held on the second Thursday of each month from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.

2. Scholarship recipients will be required to participate in service projects and business related learning opportunities throughout the school year.

Scholarship Program Benefits 

1. Association and mentoring with women business leaders in the community.

2. Leadership and business experience.

3. $1500 scholarship (Half to be received fall semester, the other half spring semester)

Interested in Becoming a WBN Scholarship Sponsor?

The WBN College Scholarship Program needs your support.  Luncheon and angel sponsorships of $50-$1500 provide organizations the opportunity to advertise to the WBN audience through various means and time periods.  Donations-in-kind support the scholarship fundraiser silent auction at the December Holiday Luncheon.  Proceeds from sponsorships, contributions, and auctions go directly to the scholarship program.  Sponsor benefits for contributions may include recognition through the blog, Facebook page, and at the corresponding monthly luncheon.
